Welcome to Tazewell 1– A Charming Coastal Retreat in Historic Cape Charles Nestled in the heart of historic Cape Charles, Tazewell 1 is a beautifully updated vacation rental offering all the comforts of home just minutes from the beach and downtown attractions. Located six blocks from the public beach, two blocks from Mason Avenue's shops and restaurants, and four blocks from the town park, this home is perfectly situated for your Eastern Shore getaway. Spacious & Comfortable Layout This two-level unit spans the 2nd and 3rd floors of a 1920s historic quadplex. Second Floor: From the private foyer, ascend to a cozy open-concept living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen. This floor also includes a full bathroom and a bedroom with two Full-size beds. Third Floor Loft: The spacious primary suite offers a King bed, dedicated office/desk area, a cozy reading nook, and an en-suite bathroom with a stand-up shower. Modern Comforts & Historic Charm Enjoy the convenience of a full-size washer and dryer in the kitchen, high-speed Wi-Fi, and three smart TVs with access to streaming apps and cable. All furnishings are brand new, blending modern comfort with thoughtful design. Climate control is easy with an Ecobee smart thermostat and four remote-controlled ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living areas. For a Restful Stay As part of a historic quadplex, you may occasionally hear sounds from neighboring units. To ensure a restful night's sleep, noise machines are provided in both bedrooms for your comfort. Pet-Friendly We welcome one small, well-behaved dog with a $100 pet fee. Please include details about your pet in your booking request for approval. A pet waiver must be completed prior to check-in. Outdoor Features While the front porch is shared with downstairs neighbors, guests have access to a side-yard patio with pavers, five beach chairs, and a hose for rinsing off sandy feet after a day at the beach. Please Note: This is a lovingly preserved 1920s home, updated with modern appliances and furnishings while retaining its original charm—including vintage windows, wood floors, five-panel doors, mortise-style locks, and traditional staircases. Guests must be able to climb stairs to access the unit. Guests will have private access to the entire 2nd and 3rd floors of left side the home. Entry is through a shared front porch and foyer. A private entryway to the unit's foyer with interior staircase leading up to the 2nd floor. Inside, you’ll have full access to all spaces, including: 2 bedrooms (one on each floor) 2 full bathrooms Fully equipped kitchen Living and dining areas In-unit washer and dryer You’ll also have access to the side yard, where you’ll find pavers with beach chairs and a hose for rinsing off after a beach day. Please note: While the front porch is shared with residents of the downstairs unit, the rest of your stay is completely private. We respect our guests' privacy but are always available if you need us! You'll be able to check in and out independently for a smooth and convenient experience. We’re also happy to provide recommendations for restaurants, shops, and activities in Cape Charles and along the Eastern Shore. Your perfect stay is our priority! This home is one of four units in a beautifully preserved 1920s historic quadplex. The unit occupies the left side of the 2nd and 3rd floors and retains original features, including hardwood floors, five-panel doors, mortise-style locks, an original staircase, and vintage windows adding to its charm. One bedroom with two Full-size beds is located on the second floor The third-floor loft features the primary bedroom and a bathroom with a stand-up shower Guests must be able to climb stairs to access the unit This unique space blends historic character with modern updates to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. You may occasionally hear noise from the adjoining unit. White noise machines are provided in all bedrooms to help light sleepers. We kindly ask all guests to be considerate of neighbors and avoid excessive noise. Loud or barking dogs are not recommended in this space. Outdoor faucet is winterized from October through April. Golf Cart rental is included, however there is a $1 administration fee. - No parties or extra guests. Unauthorized guests = immediate cancellation, no refund. - Quiet after 10 PM. - Plumbing: Only flush toilet paper. Plumber fees apply for clogs. - No smoking/vaping indoors. - No refunds for weather, power outages, or amenity issues (TVs, appliances, Wi-Fi, etc.). Travel insurance recommended. -Do not leave food/trash outside; it attracts flies, etc. - Wi-Fi: Provided by Spectrum; hosts not responsible for outages. - Do not rearrange furniture or move outdoor furniture inside (or vice versa). -Golf cart is reserved for use of this unit only and not shared. - If the golf cart is unavailable during your stay, a $25 credit will be issued to the guest. PENALTIES for following (a claim will be filed with Airbnb): -Smoking indoors: $200 -Late checkout after 10 AM (unapproved): $100 -Unregistered guests/pets: $100 each -Home damage: Up to $500 -Illegal substances = immediate eviction, no refund

We very much enjoyed our stay at T's place in Cape Charles! It was clear that a lot of thought had been put into making it a comfortable rental, with clear instructions, easy-to-follow check-in and check-out information, and lots of thoughtful details for travelers (lots of USB ports in the living area and bedrooms, everything labeled, motion sensor lights, etc.). T was extremely responsive to questions, and provided helpful information and recommendations for restaurants and things to do. One big bonus - the use of a golf cart! These carts are ubiquitous in Cape Charles and made for an easy way to take short trips in town or get to the beach (which is just a 15 minute walk away). The location is also great - historic downtown and the beach are very accessible, and the neighborhood is lovely and quiet - and just a walk around the block offers looks at well-restored Victorians and nice gardens.

We had the best stay!!! The house was amazingly clean and had all the necessary items needed. I feel like I over pack items we may need such as trash bags, zip lock bags, coffee and coffee filters, etc. All things I hate to buy once we get there because you only need a few. This house had EVERYTHING we needed - even chip clips. I didn't even unpack my "extra" items. We loved having a golf cart but everything was super walkable. We tried so many fun places to eat and shop from the recommended lists. There was amazing communication and super helpful "Before you get here" brochures emailed to us. We had a small glitch with the door that T quickly and promptly took care of for us. Even went above and beyond to make things extra easy. We highly recommend this location. We just worry it will book up before our next trip because it is such an amazing find!

We stayed in this apartment for a girl's weekend and it was absolutely perfect! We loved all the natural light, the house was spotless, the bedrooms were very spacious, and the golf cart was perfect for getting around town. The location is close enough to town that it's only a few blocks walk but far enough that it's very quiet and peaceful. The host was very responsive and provided very clear and helpful information throughout the process.
